Napoleon once said that history is a set of lies that people have agreed upon, with this certainly being the case for the French Emperors height. How Napoleon got a reputation as short is complicated and there are a few reasons. Napoleon was often followed by an entourage of very tall Soldiers which certainly didn't help the rumours. However, the biggest source of the confusion was the difference between French and British measuring units with Napoleon measuring 5 foot 2 with the french system.
