A top Navy official said before the Senate Armed Services Committee that he expects China would try to reunify Taiwan by force within the next six years.
Admiral Philip S. Davidson, the United States Indo-Pacific Commander, explained to lawmakers during a hearing on China and the Indo-Pacific region that China's arms buildup, combined with increased aggressiveness in their near-abroad, indicates an increasing willingness to use force to achieve foreign policy objectives.
