Rush Deep Dive: Counterparts
Published at : September 26, 2021
On this episode of Rush Deep Dive, we dive into the album often cited as "most underrated" from the discography by Rush fans. A record where the band returned to their "nuts and bolts" as shown on the album's cover. The album was recorded from April-June 1993 at Le Studio in Morin Heights and released on October 19, 1993. Counterparts shows Rush returning to its guitar/bass/drum foundation, and becoming less dependent on synths and technology. This can be heard throughout, from the songwriting, to the performance, to the production. Counterparts also marks the return of co-producer Peter Collins.
